Everybody Outside: A Community Access & Trail Experience Initiative
The Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy is proud to launch EveryBODY OUTside, an initiative focused on enhancing public access, safety, and enjoyment at the preserves we open to the community.
Through this effort, we are working to improve the trail experience for people of all ages and abilities—by addressing common barriers to access, adding clear trail markers, noting cell service coverage, and implementing thoughtful improvements that help all visitors feel confident, safe, and welcome in nature.
This summer, we’re also promoting the Outside Safe Space initiative at many of our public-access preserves. It’s a simple way for people to show their support for shared respect, safety, and kindness on the trail. We kicked off this inititiave with a community event on June 28th featuring a discussion panel covering obstacles to true inclusion and how we (as an organization and individually) can help make positive change in outdoor activities and spaces.
Donate today to help improve our public preserves to better serve a broad range of community needs—quiet nature walks, family outings, solo hikes, and more.
Let’s come together to support a trail system that works for everyone.
